Diapason Commodities Management is a leading independent commodity asset management firm. Through its team of investment professionals the company provides a broad range of commodity investment solutions to its institutional and high net worth clients.

After a long period of neglect, commodities have increasingly been perceived as offering a range of investment opportunities not afforded by financial assets, such as stocks and bonds.

Indeed, over the twentieth century, three main bull markets in commodities have already taken place - between 1906-1920, 1933-1949, and 1968-1982 – each of which lasted no less than fourteen years. Since 2002, a fourth has been underway as the ‘second industrial revolution’ spreads factories, offices and highways across Asia, the FSU, Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Gulf states and even, at last, Africa .

After years of subscribing to a misleading body of myth on the subject, investors’ awakened interest in commodities has led them to read the research anew and not rely on hearsay and old wives’ tales about their supposed demerits.

This new objectivity has revealed to them the prospective returns and portfolio diversification effects which commodities provide are not readily to be overlooked.

Moreover, it is now widely accepted that commodities display a low, even a negative, correlation to other asset classes, while also offering the kind of hedge against inflation which few other liquid asset types can provide.

As the more players come to the market, as investors become more sophisticated, as influences from the real world of business and development wax and wane, the need for innovative new products to reflect these is constantly expanding.

Here at Diapason, it is our goal to provide them.
